Encouraged by the success of the TIDEL Park, Chennai, Govt. of Tamil Nadu announced in the budget 2006-07 to construct an IT Park at Coimbatore jointly with Govt. of India.
Milestones of IT Park @ Coimbatore
- MoU signed between TIDEL Park, Chennai & ELCOT on 8-8-2006.
- Foundation stone was laid by Hon'ble Chief Minister on 24-2-2007.
- TIDEL Park Coimbatore Ltd. was incorporated on 21-6-2007.
- ELCOT allotted 9.5 acres of plot in IT-SEZ in October 2007.
- Earth excavation work commenced in Nov. 2007.
- Co-Developer approval obtained from Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GOI on 22-5-2008.
- Financial closure achieved & entire equity subscribed.
- Contracts awarded since 2008, project nearing completion.
